Downtown Newton is Catawba County’s historic courthouse square, with free concerts at the Frank & Sue Jones Amphitheatre and markets around the 1924 courthouse. Fall 2026 is dated on DNDA pages; most holiday events are named but not yet dated.
Holiday downtown events (Light Up the Town, Christmas Crawl, Spooktacular, Bark or Treat, Choo Choo & Snowman, Noël Cart Parade) appear on DNDA seasonal pages with no 2026 dates. City Parks calendar currently shows July 2026 only. Nothing dated for early 2027.
Keep Hickory Fair / Hickory Fairgrounds on the Hickory page even though the fairgrounds street address is Newton.
